LIHI-Kalibo instructor attains assessor accreditation
Mr. Michael Christian B. Parel, faculty of instruction of LIHI-Kalibo, received his certificate of accreditation as an assessor for Caregiving NC II from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Aklan Provincial Office last July 2009 upon the recommendation of TESDA Prov. Dir. Edwin S. Villanueva and due approval of TESDA Reg. Dir. Buen S. Mondejar.
He is the first assessor for the said qualification in the province of Aklan.
Mr. Parel attained TQ-AQ status last January of this year after having complied with the requirements mandated by TESDA for technical-vocational instructors, with a rating "highly recommended" for assessorship.
The application for assessorship for any TESDA-approved qualification requires a series of requirements that have to be complied with before one can be deemed qualified for application as assessor. Assessors play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of technical-vocational education in the Philippines through the application of stringent assessment procedures to test the competence of candidates based on their respective qualification training regulations.
